Hi, I’m David Bottner, CEO of the *New Orleans Mission. I know that making the decision to partner with a nonprofit charity online can be challenging sometimes, so let me tell you a little bit about who we are and what we do every day.

When someone walks into our facility needing help or when we rescue someone from a dangerous place, we don’t see a homeless person, or an addict. What we see is a man or a woman experiencing a shattered life and a broken heart. We see one of God’s children hurting.

A broken heart and desperate circumstances create a dangerous recipe for very poor choices in an attempt to medicate the pain. Digging deep to find the root cause of the pain is the first step in recovery. But the main process of healing comes when God steps in and begins to reveal who we are in Him.

Losing everything and hitting rock bottom is a great time and place to find Jesus Christ, and we expand on that by providing the environment, the biblical knowledge, and the opportunity to allow that transformation to occur.

We do not believe that someone has to be labeled an addict for life. We are witness to the powerful truth of God’s word every day found in 1 Peter 2:21-25. “By His wounds you have been healed…”
