The New Orleans Mission is making a powerful impact at Lynhaven in Hammond, walking alongside women in recovery from devastating situations such as homelessness, human trafficking, and sexual and physical abuse. We are committed to rescuing and restoring survivors of human trafficking, providing a safe haven for them and their children.
Recently, we transformed seven cottages into 14 duplexes to support women who have graduated from our program and reunited with their children, as well as those currently facing domestic violence, homelessness, or escaping human trafficking. These duplexes offer a secure and supportive environment where survivors can heal, rebuild their lives, and move forward with hope and confidence.
At the New Orleans Mission, we believe no one should face these struggles alone. All our services are open to anyone in need and are completely free to all of our guests. Together, we are fighting human trafficking, restoring lives, and empowering women to reclaim their futures.
Restoration Through Vocational Training
In addition to providing safe housing, the women in our program participate in vocational training, equipping them with essential skills for independence. Lynhaven Events is one of our key programs, where we host weddings, picnics, and family reunions at the Lynhaven event center. Women in our program gain hands-on experience in event planning, hospitality, and the service industry while earning wages and developing confidence in their abilities.
Additionally, our Redemption NOLA jewelry line offers women an opportunity to express their creativity while rebuilding their lives. Using donated jewelry, they break apart old pieces and create beautiful new designs, each carrying a story of resilience and transformation. These unique creations are sold at our Redemption NOLA thrift store in Mandeville, providing financial support for the program and allowing survivors to share their journeys with the community.
